Sacred Heart Catholic Church is committed to the safety and security of visitors, staff,
volunteers, and parishioners in its facilities. In order to support this commitment, the
Fort Worth Diocese has established the Guardian Ministry program, in conjunction with
experienced law enforcement personnel, to train and educate parish volunteers to effectively
respond to any emergency scenarios that a parish may encounter. The responsibility
of caring for the community in dealing with crisis situations, or potential criminal activity,
is the mission of this ministry. The Guardian Ministry is comprised of members of
the parish who have been trained to observe and respond appropriately, be it to medical,
unusual or disruptive behavior, or armed threat. Members can be medical, greeters, ushers,
and either armed or unarmed. For armed members, training is extensive.
