STEWARDSHIP AT SACRED HEART

Stewardship is a sharing, generous, accountable way of life rooted in Christian discipleship.

We are called to be disciples. We must, therefore, first be good stewards of our own vocations - discerning, accepting, and fulfilling the roles and responsibilities to which the Lord has called us.

The Bishops' Pastoral Letter on understanding stewardship and striving to live it fully states "that Christians are no less than 'God's co-workers' (1 Cor. 3:9), with their own particular share in his creative, redemptive and sanctifying work"

The Christian steward is "one who receives God's gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible and accountable manner, shares them in justice and love with others and returns them with increase to the Lord.

"As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace" (1 Pt. 4:10)
