MUSIC MINISTRY
Men's Chanters
- Meetings are Tuesdays at 6 PM in the Choir Room. This is a great
opportunity for all men of the Parish to sing some of the most traditional
music of the Catholic Church...Gregorian Chant. Being able to read music is
optional. Having fun is not!
Cherub Choir -
(Grades K-1st) - Rehearses every Wednesday at 5:30 pm in the religious
education building music room. This choir is the training choir in the
Children's Music Ministry. Rehearsals include music exploration and training
through games, song, and story. With periodic music offerings during worship
services throughout the year, the choir focuses on learning good singing
skills and basic musical concepts.
Chapel Choir -
(Grades 2-6) - Rehearses every Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the religious
education building music room. Rehearsals include training in developing
young voices, note reading, sacred music, music games, and learning
liturgical music. Choir sings periodically at various masses.
Carillon Ringers -
(Grades 5-8) - Rehearses every Sunday at 5:00 pm in the religious education
building music room. The Carillon Ringers consists of youth in grades 5
through 8 who wish to learn the basics of chime and hand bell ringing.
Membership is by interview with the director, however all interested youth
are encouraged to apply. Participation in worship services and special
seasonal services are scheduled throughout the year.
Chancel Choir - Adults - Rehearses every Tuesday
at 7:00 pm. 30 minutes prior to Mass and as called by the director for
special services. Sing regularly at 10:00 am Mass. Membership is open to
adults who desire to enrich their lives and the lives of others through
choral performance. experience in choral music is preferred, but not a
prerequisite. Highlights include Lessons and Carols, Christmas caroling at
local retirement centers and homes of shut-in church members, annual
Christmas party, principal choirs at Easter vigil, annual Summer Pops
concert and a choir tour and pilgrimage to Rome in March of 2002. Members
are expected to attend rehearsals and masses weekly. Child care available by
reservation.
Sacred Heart Orchestra - High school/Adult
Instrumentalists. Seasonal rehearsals and performances.
Sacred Heart Chancel Ringers - Rehearses every
Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the religious education building music room. This
opportunity offers adults who desire the fun and fellowship of a hand bell
team. regular attendance is required. Plays regularly throughout the year
for worship services, Masses, and Holy Days.
